How to Change the Active Dictionary
Pandora's default dictionary is English (American).
Follow these steps to change the active dictionary (to Spanish, Italian, French, German or any other language):
1. Close Pandora, copy a plain text source UNICODE dictionary to Pandora's program folder. Source dictionary, in addition, has to have tlx extension.
For example, american.tlx is there already. To add Spanish dictionary, add spanish.tlx to the same program-folder.
(Links below include source dictionaries for Spanish, Italian, French and German.)
2. Start Pandora, go to Settings/Composing Mail/Spell Checking, change Active Lexicon from English to Spanish. Restart Pandora, that's it.
Note. Since Pandora has 100% native lexicon engine support, it compiles it's own version of active dictionary.
Inside your main data folder, there will be a lex-file (upon the restart), in this case spanish.lex - That file is used on a regular basis, tlx-file is just the source that you can manually improve, add additional words etc.

Re: How to Change the Active Dictionary
Brilliant. I use English/Spanish interchangeably. I had a .bat file setup with Eudora, where I changed the languages at will by overwriting the American English files with the Spanish files, to wit:
copy "d:\net\eudora\Spell\british.clx" "d:\net\eudora\british.clx" /Y
copy "d:\net\eudora\Spell\british.tlx" "d:\net\eudora\british.tlx" /Y
I imagine this would also work with Pandora???
thx
copy "d:\net\eudora\Spell\british.clx" "d:\net\eudora\british.clx" /Y
copy "d:\net\eudora\Spell\british.tlx" "d:\net\eudora\british.tlx" /Y

Re: How to Change the Active Dictionary
No, you don't have the replace any dictionary:
1. Close Pandora.
2. Copy (plain text source dictionary) Spanish.tlx to a folder where Pandora is installed. There is American.tlx there already.
3. Start Pandora, it will generate Spanish.lex inside the main data folder. (There is American.lex there already.)
The above has to be done only once, no need for bat files.
To change from English to Spanish and vice versa:
1. Go to Settings/General/Composing Mail/Spell Checking Tab.
2. Select English/Spanish from a drop-down menu. Hit OK.
In future versions you'll be able to do the same switch directly from message-composition window (so you can check one paragraph with English and the other one with Spanish).
